Mission Statement

R.A.I.N. is dedicated to rescuing cats and dogs from local animal shelters, individuals who no longer want or cannot care for their pets, and animals who live their lives as strays.  Our mission is to help the animals that we can, knowing that every single one that we save makes a difference.  Volunteers work to care for, socialize, protect, medicate, and above all, love, these deserving animals.  We are always in desperate need of foster homes for cats and dogs.  The more temporary housing we can provide, the more lives we can save.

If you would like more information on becoming a foster parent please

Our only sources of financial support are donations and adoption fees.  The average cost of caring for a foster animal until it is adopted is $78.39.  Our adoption fees are $95 per cat and $150 for dogs in most cases.  This leave little for the 'special cases' that require more extensive medical attention. Any shortfall is paid from volunteers' pockets and they are not deep.  If you would like to support us with your time, monetary contributions, or supplies, please contact us or visit us at the Lake Mary PETsMART (4550 W. Lake Mary Blvd) on Saturdays from 10 a.m - 5 p.m and the Casselberry PETsMART (4510 S. US 17-92) on Sundays from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. For more information see our Support page.

Special Note *  Part of our group's efforts involve rescuing feral and other stray cats that are not used  to human companionship.  They have only known life on the streets and unkind treatment.  We always have a need for farms or homes in rural areas where these animals can be safely placed following their spay/neuter - if they are not adoptable for indoor-only homes.

If you can help us place these cats please
